Palm Beach International Airport Noted as One of Country’s Most Affordable Airports

The Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) received a notable ranking on Cheapflights.com’s recently released ‘Top 101 Affordable U.S. Airports’ report for 2011, coming in as the 23rd most affordable airport in the nation.  Based on a search conducted in June 2011, Cheapflights.com pulled the 101 most searched airports and evaluated their average prices for flights to the most popular domestic and international destinations.  The 101 airports with the lowest average prices are included in the final list.

As confirmed by Cheapflights.com Online Marketing Executive Martin Clinton, “I’ve flown into and out of PBIA many times, and always find it very pleasant, accessible, and exceptionally welcoming.”

In addition to its ranking with Cheapflights.com, the PBIA was also named one of the ten“Most Relaxed and Stress-Free Airports” by SmarterTravel.com this year, and rated third best airport in the U.S. and sixth best in the world by Conde Nast Traveler readers.

The Palm Beach International Airport boasts a central location just minutes from downtown West Palm Beach and oceanfront hotel properties, efficient and hassle-free security and check-in, inexpensive daily parking, and free WiFi throughout the terminal, just to name a few. In October, 2010, the airport completed more than $7.5 million in renovations to the departures level and shopping area, featuring a new fountain and gazebo and new concessions including Brooks Brother’s for Women; Brighton’s, selling women’s accessories; and Worth Avenue News, selling news, books and gift items; and bringing back a new and improved PGA Tour Shop.

The destination is no stranger to accolades. The Palm Beaches was recently ranked #11 worldwide for “Best Summer Vacations,” by US News & World Report, and two Palm Beach properties, The Brazilian Court Hotel & Beach Club and The Breakers Palm Beach, were also named to Travel + Leisure’s 2011 list of “America’s Best Beach Hotels.”
